This Week in Genesis (#29), a new Genesis community effort from Calvin, three awesome new premium themes and some event called WordCamp US?
Let’s go.
New thing from Calvin!
A new place for bloggers to post their work and gain exposure: Genesis Framework on Medium — https://t.co/mb7hRZuSvg #genesiswp
— Calvin Koepke (@cjkoepke) December 3, 2015
So, most of you know I feature a lot of stuff from Calvin Koepke on these updates, and deservedly so (the guy just puts out great stuff).
However this week I wanted to give a special shout out to something new he’s doing over on Medium.
But, I’ll let him explain it better than me 🙂
So, I’ve started a new idea: http://www.medium.com/genesis-framework/
I’m sure you get the idea by just looking, but the idea is to build the community up on Medium, and give people an avenue to publish their work and existing posts to a wider audience.
If you’ve got any value at all out of GenesisWP.guide, I definitely encourage you to check it out and support what he is doing over there too.
Themes
No Sidebar is here! That’s right, the often admired, much requested No Sidebar theme from Brian Gardner has arrived and is now available for purchase or download over at StudioPress.

Next up Shay Bocks (yes, The Shay Bocks of best selling Genesis theme fame for Foodie Pro) has launched a new theme, entitled Dear. Coded by Rob Neu, the new theme is everything you’d expect from one of the communities favourite premium theme designers.

Also, I’m not 100% sure it’s new this week (I should’ve asked but I ran out of time before publishing!) but a special shout out anyway to Shay Bock’s website, shaybocks.com, one of the finest designs I’ve seen on Genesis.
Best of the rest

Latest plugin I'm working on adds WYSIWYG editors to commonly used #genesiswp hooks in the edit page/post admin. Unique content per post.

If you didn’t get enough over Black Friday / Cyber Monday, there’s a few Genesis related deals still kicking around for you, both expiring this week.
- 20% off the Flex Pro theme by Simple Pro Themes
- 20% off anything at Shay Bocks Designs
And, finally…
If you’re going to WordCamp US this weekend then, like Susan, I hope you have a blast.
I hope all my #genesiswp friends have fun at #WCUS this weekend. I'll be there in spirit!!!

And, if you missed it, here are the Genesis meetup details for those that are going.

That’s all for this week.
But I’ll be back next week with another action packed update for you. I’m also hoping to have a couple of interviews with a few more leading lights of the Genesis community for you soon so stay tuned for this.
Until then, have a fantastic weekend, enjoy WordCamp US if you’re going and support Calvin 🙂
PS If you dig these weekly updates, you can get occasional updates throughout the week over on Twitter. Plus, if you don’t already, you can subscribe by email so you never miss a post over here.
Thanks for the shoutout man. 😉
Always a pleasure 😉
I like to read about everything you share every week. But maybe you could share somethings from Sweden as well. 🙂
Thanks Patricia.
I’m working on a better solution for submissions and ‘discovery’, but in the meantime if there’s anything you think I’ve missed or deserves a shout out, please feel free to leave a comment or drop me a note via the contact link on this site.
Cheers!
Love the No Sidebar theme 😉
WordCamp US coming…
